Special Status to Kashmir by Articles 370 & 35A
In the year 1956, Kashmir was given autonomy and a Special Status by Article 370 in the Indian Constitution. Articles like 370,371,35a etc. are connected with privileges given to J&K. Article 370 gives greater autonomy to J&K compared to the other states of India. This Article, along with Article 35a, defined that the J&K state’s residents live under a separate Constitution, separate flag, citizenship, ownership of property & fundamental rights as compared to Indian residents of other states.
